ISSUES
Stop Endless Wars
The US has been continuously at war for 20 years – and during that same period, the social safety net has continued to fray. We need to stop endless wars, reign in the military-industrial complex, and invest in the things that actually keep Americans safe – like universal healthcare and fighting climate change.

Key Points
- The United States defense budget is more than the next 10 countries combined
- Demand accountability: the Pentagon has failed every financial audit it’s undergone
- Divert wasteful defense spending into domestic priorities
Details
The United States has been continuously at war for 20 years – and during that same period, the social safety net has continued to fray. The bloated defense budget is more than the next 10 countries combined; meanwhile, the Pentagon has failed every financial audit it’s undergone since Congress started requiring it in 2017. The war machine needs to be held accountable. We need to prioritize diplomacy over military intervention, stop endless wars that make us less safe, reign in the military-industrial complex and invest in the things that actually protect us – like universal healthcare and fighting climate change.
