Yes on Maine Question 4: Maine Minimum Wage Increase

Maine
Question 4, the Maine Minimum Wage Increase, would gradually increase the state’s minimum wage to $12 by 2020 with annual cost-of-living increases thereafter. This progressive step forward will enable many workers to achieve a middle-class life rather than being stuck in poverty, and it will also help local business as more workers will have the income to go out to purchase goods and services. Recent studies show that states that raise the minimum wage see faster job growth as a result. The truth is Maine’s current minimum wage of $7.50 an hour is a starvation wage. Question 4 would lift thousands of Maine workers out of poverty and give working families a shot at a middle class life. Join the Fight & Learn More
