No on Oklahoma Question 776: Amendment to Protect Death Penalty

Oklahoma
Question 776 is a sideways attempt to circumvent the traditional checks and balances of Oklahoma’s 3-branch system of government. It would add a section to the Oklahoma Constitution to define that the death penalty is not cruel and unusual punishment—a definition and role that is the province of Oklahoma’s courts. Question 776 would only open up the state to further costly legal challenges and disrupt several examinations into the state’s death penalty procedures. Join the Fight & Learn More
