Anthony has been working on community, environmental, and economic development issues for 30 years and is the author of Building a Healthy Economy from the Bottom Up. In 1995, Anthony founded Appalachian Sustainable Development, which became a regional and national leader in sustainable economic development. Anthony left ASD in December, 2009 to found SCALE, Inc, an organization that works with communities nationwide to improve their economic standing. Anthony lives in Abingdon, Virginia with his wife Laurel. Anthony has three children and a Border Collie.
