Our Candidates / Massachusetts / Ben Ewen-Campen

Ben Ewen-Campen

Running for Somerville Ward 3 Alderman
Massachusetts
Election: Nov. 7, 2017

Ben is a biologist, and his career is about tackling tough problems. He will work to bring a fresh, progressive approach to the major issues facing Somerville. With real estate developers having so much influence in our community, The city needs a new voice who will stand up to special interests and fight to keep Somerville an affordable place to live and work.

Ben is challenging an incumbent Alderman with long ties to the current administration and to local for-profit real estate developers. He believes that we need new voices at all levels of government in order to re-energize civic engagement and to push for bold policies that will improve the lives of working people and address our affordability crisis. He will advocate for policies to prevent displacement, increase affordability, and build a just and vibrant local economy in Somerville.
