As a lifelong resident of our state, I am proud of my experiences in rural, urban, and small-town Nebraskan communities. I attended a one-room school in rural Lancaster County before my family moved to Lincoln. I've also lived across the state with my husband John and I currently residing in Lincoln where our 4 adult sons and 10 grandchildren live..
I have built a career of caring for Nebraskans, first as a healthcare worker and later examining systemic and structural barriers impacting the lives of our Nebraska neighbors. The last 7 years I have worked at Nebraska Appleseed, Center for Law and Justice. I've also done a lot of volunteer work, most recently on the Lincoln Public Schools Strategic Planning Committee, the LPS High School Task Force, and YWCA of Lincoln Board. In all of these experiences, I’ve put people first by creating welcoming and inclusive communities where everyone feels like they belong and have opportunities.
