Dan Quick

Running for State Senate
Dan, a native Nebraskan, has spent his entire life as a leader and advocate for his fellow working-class citizens. Dan has been a proud member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 1597 since starting at the Power Plant in 1988. He served as Vice President from 2007 through 2009 and was then elected President/Business Manager in 2010 – a position he still holds. He is also President of the Nebraska State Utility Workers Conference, and Vice President of the Central Nebraska Central Labor Council in Grand Island. Dan and his IBEW Local played a large role in organizing the public to prevent the City of Grand Island from privatizing its Waste Water Treatment Plant. They also lobbied State Senators when the CIR was under attack, and he attended meetings in Lincoln with the other Public Sector Unions to prepare for the assault. Dan has been active in lobbying State Senators on Labor issues and has attended committee hearings to support the cause.
