I am absolutely passionate about getting health care for all. I've spent 20 years as a health care advocate, including a decade as the executive director of an international health NGO helping people access health care and navigate the fragmented health system that we have here. (The US and Africa have the most fragmentation and the most uninsured.) I've spent 20 years as a Mom - helping my special needs daughter and her younger brother succeed in school and go on to work and college, so I'm passionate about fully funding our schools and helping all kids and their teachers succeed. I'm a union member as a personal support worker for my daughter (I'm a member of SEIU 503) and was raised in a union family, so I'm passionate about worker's rights and the right to organize and collectively bargain. And I'm an ordained Congregational clergyperson, who cares about the environment, and helping people find living wage jobs, affordable housing, and be treated fairly as small business owners.
