I was 12 years old when my mother decided to escape the poverty and oppression in Russia and immigrated to the US. it was tough - we lived in a shelter for a while; my mom worked nights at Walmart and went to UAA during the day to try to better herself and provide a better life for her children. But I learned the value of hard work and getting an education. I married my high school sweetheart Melissa and worked a union job to pay for our college educations. She became a medical doctor, I became a CPA. While Melissa was in med school, I stayed at home to care for our son. Eventually I started my own accounting practice, working with rural tribes, villages and native corporations. After inventing a planter that could be shipped flat, I started and still run an eCommerce company that manufactures and ships globally. My successful business has allowed me to fund my campaign for Congress and devote full time to campaigning for the past year.
