A native Omahan, Heath lives in South Omaha’s Robin Hill neighborhood with his wife, Catherine, and their children, Angelina and John. Heath represented District 5 in the Nebraska Legislature, where he served as Chairman of the Appropriations Committee, until he reached his term limits in 2016. In the Legislature, Heath brought Republicans and Democrats together to pass balanced budgets that provided significant property tax relief, and negotiated major income tax cuts and reforms. By addressing key issues like equal pay, ridesharing (Uber & Lyft), tax reform, Drivers Licenses for DREAMers and economic development, Heath earned a reputation as a leader who will work with all sides to build consensus and get things done. Over the past decade, Heath has been active with neighborhood, small business, and community betterment organizations focused on improving the quality of life of residents across Omaha.
