/ Jonathan Brostoff
Running for State Representative
Rep. Brostoff grew up on Milwaukee’s east side and attended UW-Milwaukee, where he met his wife, Diana Vang-Brostoff. Elected to the Assembly in 2014, Rep. Brostoff now serves his district by protecting the interests of his community members.
Since taking office, Rep. Brostoff has been active in eliminating the stigma associated with mental health, serving on the committees of Mental Health Reform and Aging and Long Term Care and the task force on Alzheimer’s and Dementia. He recently held a public hearing on the state of mental health in Milwaukee, asking the community to share their experiences and provide testimony on the effectiveness of current laws.
Rep. Brostoff is now taking steps to further improve and expand mental health services in Milwaukee. His proposals include prohibiting the use of solitary confinement for individuals with mental illnesses in correctional facilities, increasing mental health care access for the deaf community, and increasing state funding for mental health services.
