Kenny is a grassroots activist, community organizer, and an advocate for healthcare, criminal justice reform, education and combating homelessness. He comes from a low-income background but managed to attend and graduate from Georgetown University and started a successful career in community association insurance. Upon moving back to the region, he discovered that he was the descendant of African slaves brought to Virginia over 200 hundred years ago.
