I am a father, husband, union electrician, engineer, political activist, and 5th generation Oregonian. My family's roots in the Willamette Valley date back to the 1800s. My mom was a construction secretary and my dad was a truck driver. I began working on farms in middle school, picking strawberries, bucking hay, or moving irrigation pipe. My blue-collar background has a huge effect on my political views and drives me to serve the working-class. My wife, Maggie, and I have three boys in public school, age 14, 12, and 5. I have been a proud member of IBEW Local 280 since 1996. Maggie is a UFCW member and ASL interpreter. While working full-time as an electrician, I enrolled in night and weekend classes, where I earned a BS in Electrical Engineering and an MS in Renewable Energy Engineering.
