Steven is a fourth-generation, decorated combat veteran and lives in Dripping Springs, TX with his wife Kelsey and twin boys, Everett and Elliott. The son of two generations of educators, Steven grew up in San Angelo, TX, attending Central High School, and graduated from Texas A&M University in 1995 with a BBA in Marketing. Steven has answered the call to service before, and his story exemplifies his commitment to his country, state, and community. After 9/11, he placed his career in IT on hold, and at the age of 32, joined a Special Operations unit of the U.S. Army known as Civil Affairs. Its mission: To protect refugees and rebuild societies torn apart by war. Steven served two combat tours and is a recipient of the Bronze Star. The current corrosive political environment has motivated him to return to fight for his community in a new capacity as a Texas State Senator.
