Suzanna Ibarra was born and raised in Joliet. She has been involved in the community for over a decade and is the chairwoman of the Will County Progressives, the local Our Revolution group. In 2005, after the murder of her beloved sister in law, she secured a donation from the Will County State’s Attorney’s office to start Survivors of Homicide, a support group for families impacted by violent crimes. She has been with other families who have suffered through the murder of a loved one, always reaching out and assisting those left behind about protocol of the court systems, victims services including trauma treatment and bereavement services. Suzanna cares about every member of her community and wants a better future for all of Joliet.
