I have lived in Thurston County for over a decade with my wife, a Kindergarten teacher, and two children, who are 12 and 10 now. In 1993, I graduated with honors from Harvard College, with a degree in Government. In 1997, I graduated from law school at UC Berkeley (Boalt Hall). During my time in law school, I taught myself Spanish, spent a summer studying language in Morelia, Mexico, and spent one semester of my time at Boalt Hall studying law, in Spanish, at the University of Chile in Santiago. In September 1997 I began a 20-year legal career that has included commercial and intellectual property litigation, criminal defense, and family law. During the early part of my career I spent 7 years in northern Alaska with the Alaska Public Defender Agency. In 2007, I moved to Thurston County and joined Morgan Hill, P.C., as an associate attorney. Between 2010 and 2013, I served on Thurston County’s Water Conservancy Board.
