I am a Democrat currently serving in the South Carolina House of Representatives for House District 70. I was elected in a Special Election in 2017 with more than 8 other candidates in the race to fill the unexpired term of the late Rep. Joe Neal. I have previous elective service on the Richland School District One Board, elected at large and twice elected Chair of the Board. I am a community activist and have served as the official community spokesperson for the Hopkins and Lower Richland Citizens United. I am Past President of the AARP South Carolina and also was selected as the South East Region Volunteer Director where I oversaw the activities of AARP volunteers in 8 South Eastern states. I am a graduate of the University of South Carolina and also earned a Master's Degree in Business from Webster University. I have served on numerous community volunteer boards and received numerous community leadership awards.
