WASHINGTON -- Our Revolution on Thursday announced its endorsement of Laura Moser for U.S. House of Representatives representing Texas’ 7th Congressional District. She is also endorsed by the statewide group, Our Revolution Texas. Moser is a leader and organizer who founded Daily Action, a text-messaging service that allows people to engage directly in the political process.
“The DCCC’s ridiculous attacks on Laura Moser are why Democrats nationally have lost over 1,100 seats. Laura is a rising progressive advocate that the workaday people of Texas desperately need,” said Jim Hightower, Our Revolution Board Member. “She is an active organizer who takes on the Powers That Be on behalf of the Powers That Ought To Be -- workers, consumers, small businesses, and just plain folks. From her support for a $15 minimum wage and Medicare for All to her commitment to improving the immigration system, Laura will not just hold a congressional seat, she'll put it to work creating policies that work for grassroots people, not just for the billionaires. The people of Texas should be allowed to make their own decisions on who to vote for without the influence of Washington insiders.”
Laura was born and raised in Southside Place, attended Amherst College, and subsequently worked as an editor, author, and national journalist with bylines in many national publications. Laura now lives in West University Place with her husband, Arun. Laura and Arun have two young children, Leo and Claudia, and three rescue cats.
Our Revolution supports progressive champions at every level of government. By supporting candidates up and down the ballot, we are aiming to transform American politics to make our political and economic systems responsive to the needs of working families.
