WASHINGTON -- Our Revolution on Friday endorsed Pamela Price for Alameda County District Attorney. She is also endorsed by Our Revolution local groups in San Leandro, East Bay, and Contra Costa. Price is a civil rights attorney who has been defending women and minorities in California since becoming a member of the bar in 1983.
“Our Revolution is committed to electing District Attorneys that are responsive to community concerns,” said Our Revolution President, Nina Turner. “Pamela’s entire career has been dedicated to standing up for communities of color and those that our society views as unimportant. From the lowest circuit court to the U.S. Supreme Court, Pamela has fought for equal rights and fair treatment of everyone. Our Revolution is proud to endorse Pamela Price because we have no doubt she will continue to pursue justice with the same fervor once elected to District Attorney.”
Price survived the American foster care and juvenile justice systems and went on to open her own civil litigation firm in 1991. Since then she has served as the Interim Executive Director of the Lawyers Committee for Civil Rights in San Francisco, won large settlements in sexual harassment cases against the City of Oakland, and even pressured California Department of Corrections to implement new policies and regulations aimed at protecting female employees from sexual harassment and sexual assault.
Our Revolution supports progressive champions at every level of government. By supporting candidates up and down the ballot, we are aiming to transform American politics to make our political and economic systems responsive to the needs of working families.
