WASHINGTON -- Our Revolution on Thursday endorsed Paulette Jordan for Governor of Idaho. She is supported by Our Revolution local group Our Revolution Boise. Jordan has been a member of the Idaho House of Representatives since 2014, serving Northern Idaho as the only Democrat. If elected, she would be the first woman and first Native American governor of Idaho.
“Paulette is dedicated to Idaho’s people, culture, and lands,” said Deborah Parker, Our Revolution Board Member and former Vice Chair of the Tulalip Tribe. “As a state representative, she has worked tirelessly to ensure the rights and services guaranteed to all Idahoans are equal and accessible. As Governor, Paulette will be a fierce advocate for expanding Medicaid, raising the minimum wage, attracting renewable energy businesses.
Jordan grew up in rural Northern Idaho in a family rooted in agriculture and caring for the land. As an active member of the state legislature, she has a record of standing with people whose voices are often forgotten. Most recently she stood with students calling for gun reform at Idaho’s March for Our Lives event. Jordan is a member of the Idaho House Resources and Conservation Committee, the Energy, Environment & Technology Committee, State Hospital North Advisory Board, Joint Finance-Appropriations Committee, and Idaho Legislative Council among many other positions.
Our Revolution supports progressive champions at every level of government. By supporting candidates up and down the ballot, we are aiming to transform American politics to make our political and economic systems responsive to the needs of working families.
