Our Revolution on Saturday will join the People’s Climate Movement as a Steering Committee Member for the People’s Climate March for Climate, Jobs and Justice. Our Revolution volunteers and staff will mark the 100th day of the Trump administration by participating in the Washington D.C. event, while members of local Our Revolution organizing chapters will join sister marches across the country.
“We see the effects of climate change on our economy, public health, and national security,” said Executive Director Shannon Jackson. “Climate change does not discriminate, our lawmakers do. It’s up to us to stand together and fight back. That’s why we’re proud to join the coalition formed by the People’s Climate Movement to stand up for environmental, economic, and social justice.”
The People's Climate March rejects the Trump administration’s cuts to the EPA and the Clean Power plan, and demands an immediate end to attacks on indigenous, immigrant, LGBTQ, and Muslim communities and other communities of color. Thousands are expected to unite in resistance at Saturday’s march and renew the collective commitment to working toward an economy and a government that works for working people.
“Our Revolution believes it’s time we finally put people before the profits of polluters,” Jackson added. “The debate is over. We must take action now.”
