Our Revolution Statement on the Signing of the USMCA Trade Agreement

WASHINGTON--Our Revolution Board Chair and former President of the CWA Larry Cohen issued the following statement in response to today’s signing of the United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA):

“The USMCA has some improvements but continues many pitfalls from NAFTA, doing little to protect our environment, end job outsourcing, or lower the high cost of prescription drugs. We strongly urge Congress to make sure that the implementation of this agreement strengthens worker wages and job protections, and ends the outrageous giveaways to the fossil fuel and pharmaceutical industries. Workers in all three countries deserve a trade deal that protects them, not corporations who put profits over people.”
