Angie Parkinson for Connecticut State House District 10

Our Revolution is proud to endorse Angie Parkinson for Connecticut State House District 10 in East Hartford.

Angie has spent her life educating, organizing, and fighting for her community — and now she’s ready to bring that experience to the Connecticut State House.

A 25-year public educator, East Hartford Town Councilor, organizer, and activist, Angie understands that some of the biggest challenges working families face — from healthcare and housing to taxes and public education — are decided at the state level.

And she’s running to make sure working people have a powerful voice in those decisions.

From the Classroom to the State House

For 25 years, Angie has taught social studies at the same school, helping students understand the world around them and become engaged citizens.

But Angie hasn’t just taught civic engagement. She practices it.

As an East Hartford Town Councilor, Angie chairs the Tax Policy and Real Estate Committees and serves on the Economic Development Commission. She has worked to responsibly grow East Hartford’s tax base, revitalize neglected properties, and advocate for fair wages, strong benefits, and safe working conditions for town employees.

That combination of educator, organizer, and local elected leader gives Angie a perspective we need more of in state government: she knows how public policy actually affects classrooms, workers, families, and communities.

An Affordability Agenda That Takes On the Real Problem

Angie is running with a clear focus on making Connecticut work for working people.

Her affordability agenda recognizes that families are being squeezed from every direction — by housing, healthcare, energy, food, childcare, and transportation costs.

And Angie believes the answer isn’t asking working families to sacrifice more.

It’s making the wealthy and corporations pay their fair share.

She supports reforming Connecticut’s tax system by taxing extreme wealth and closing corporate loopholes, then reinvesting those resources in the things families actually need — including housing, energy, food access, and affordability.

Healthcare for All. Strong Public Schools. Power for Workers.

As a longtime public educator and union member, Angie knows strong communities depend on strong public institutions.

She supports a public healthcare option as part of the fight to make quality healthcare accessible and affordable.

She’s also committed to protecting and strengthening public education with fair funding and the resources students, educators, and communities need to succeed.

And Angie is firmly on the side of workers.

She wants to raise wages, strengthen the right to organize, protect prevailing wages, expand apprenticeships, strengthen unemployment protections for striking workers, and improve pay transparency.

For Angie, these fights are connected: working people shouldn’t have to struggle to afford healthcare, housing, or basic necessities while wealth concentrates at the top.

Protecting Rights — and Democracy Itself

Angie is also running to protect the fundamental rights that are increasingly under attack.

She supports defending reproductive and LGBTQ+ rights, protecting voting rights, expanding access to the ballot, and fighting voter suppression.

She wants to modernize Connecticut’s democracy through reforms including ranked-choice voting and more accessible and equitable elections.

Angie understands that democracy is about more than casting a ballot every few years. It’s about whether ordinary people have a meaningful voice in the decisions shaping their lives.

A Progressive Fighter for East Hartford

This is exactly why Our Revolution works to build progressive power from the ground up.

Angie Parkinson isn’t a career insider looking for the next rung on the political ladder. She’s a teacher, organizer, union member, and local leader who has spent decades rooted in her community.

Now she’s ready to take that experience to Hartford and fight for affordable healthcare and housing, strong public schools, workers and unions, fair taxes, civil rights, and a democracy that belongs to all of us.

That’s the kind of progressive leadership Connecticut needs.

Our Revolution is proud to endorse Angie Parkinson for State Representative in Connecticut House District 10.

Let’s send a public educator and grassroots progressive to the State House to fight for East Hartford’s working families.

When we organize, we win.
