Running for State Representative
Chris is a Democratic Committeeperson re-elected twice since 2006. He served as a legislative staffer in the U.S. Senate and a writer and trainer for the White House Conference on Small Business during the Clinton administration, and later ran a nationally acclaimed urban business incubator in West Philadelphia which in part inspired his book, Invisible Capital: How Unseen Forces Shape Entrepreneurial Opportunity. Chris received his bachelor's degree from Yale (1992), a master's degree from University of Pennsylvania (2006) in organizational dynamics, and has taught at Temple University Fox School of Business since 2012 where he is also the Social Impact Fellow at the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Institute. In 2014, Chris was selected to present at TEDxPhiladelphia on Temple's campus where he spoke on entrepreneurship and community wealth-building. Presently, Chris is on the faculty of the Institute for Strategic Leadership at Drexel University's LeBow College of Business. Chris serves on the board of directors of the Friends of the Wissahickon and is the vice chair of the board of directors for Race Forward based in New York City. Chris lives with his two sons in East Mt. Airy.
Chris's priorities are full and fair funding for public schools, broad inclusion and social equity for all Pennsylvanians, improved incentives for local businesses to create good, living wage jobs and restoring public integrity and accountability in government.
