She is succeeding her father, Rep. Raúl Grijalva, a legendary progressive force in Southern Arizona. Adelita’s win ensures the continuation of a values-driven, people-centered approach to representation. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Emily’s List, and the Working Families Party. Through grassroots grassroots efforts — 39,000 door knocks, 1,400 volunteers, and a vibrant “movimiento” — Adelita’s campaign embodied people-powered politics.
