Junaid’s life and work reflect the values our movement was built on. As the son of immigrant working-class parents, he grew up seeing firsthand how hard families work to make ends meet, and he’s dedicated his life to building pathways to opportunity and justice for others.
Throughout his career, Junaid has been a community organizer and small business owner — founding a tech company that employs local workers and co-founding Chi-Care, a nonprofit that has delivered over one million meals and supplies to unhoused neighbors across the Chicago area.
When the COVID-19 pandemic hit, Junaid didn’t step back — he stepped up, launching efforts to deliver hot meals and essential support to those most affected, demonstrating the kind of compassionate leadership our communities need.

Junaid is running to fix a system that too often serves corporations and billionaires instead of working people. He has pledged to:
- Fight for Medicare for All and affordable healthcare
- Raise wages and protect workers’ rights
- Champion quality public education and affordable college
