Our Revolution is proud to endorse Patty Garcia for U.S. Congress in Illinois’ 4th Congressional District — a proven community leader, public servant, and progressive advocate who has spent her career fighting for working families, immigrant rights, and economic justice.
Patty Garcia was born and raised in the Southwest Side of Chicago and now lives in Cicero, right in the heart of IL-04. She has more than 15 years of experience working alongside immigrant and working-class families across the country, helping make government work for the people it’s supposed to serve.
Her deep ties to the district and long record of community service make her uniquely qualified to represent the diverse needs of this deeply Democratic and historically under-represented region.
Before launching her congressional campaign, Patty served as District Director and Chief of Staff to Congressman Jesús “Chuy” García, where she helped lead the office’s work on transportation, infrastructure, education policy, and constituent services — from keeping families housed to securing resources for tenants, homeowners, and small businesses.
Her leadership earned the trust of organizers, community advocates, and frontline leaders who know she delivers real results for working people.
Throughout her career, she has stood with immigrant families facing detention and deportation, worked to expand educational opportunities, supported labor rights, and fought to make government more accountable to everyday people — not corporate interests. Her campaign launch at La Chiquita grocery store, where she worked as a teenager, highlighted her deep connection to local communities and her commitment to uplifting working families.
Unlike career politicians beholden to big money, Patty has the policy experience and grassroots sensibility to tackle the issues working people face every day: healthcare, fair wages, immigration reform, investment in infrastructure and schools, and economic justice.
Her progressive leadership would bring a much-needed voice to Congress rooted in lived experience and community accountability — exactly the kind of change our movement is fighting for.
