Our Revolution Rallies Behind Troy Jackson to Replace Graham Platner on Maine Senate Ballot

With just days before Maine’s replacement deadline, Our Revolution is mobilizing behind former Maine Senate President Troy Jackson to ensure the people-first movement that won the Democratic primary isn’t replaced by the political establishment.

After withdrawing our endorsement of Graham Platner in light of the serious allegations against him, Our Revolution made two things clear.

First, the allegations are serious, and Platner should step aside.

Second, this is not an opening for Democratic insiders to handpick a replacement that ignores the will of Maine voters.

Mainers voted decisively for a bold progressive agenda: Medicare for All, a campaign free from corporate money, an end to endless wars, and a candidate who would stand with working people instead of powerful interests. That mandate deserves to be honored.

That’s why Our Revolution is rallying behind Troy Jackson to carry that movement forward.

A logger, union leader, and former President of the Maine State Senate, Troy has spent his life fighting for working people. He led Bernie Sanders’ presidential campaigns in Maine in both 2016 and 2020, and Bernie later endorsed Troy’s campaign for governor. Long before this Senate seat became available, Troy had built a record of standing with workers, unions, and rural communities across Maine.

Chip in a donation of any amount to help us nominate Troy Jackson to replace Platner on the Senate ballot in Maine!

As Our Revolution Executive Director Joseph Geevarghese said:

“Last night we made clear that Graham Platner should withdraw from Maine’s Senate race. The allegations against him are serious, and he must step aside. We also made something else clear: this is not the Democratic establishment’s opening to handpick a replacement.

“Maine’s progressives didn’t win the primary by a fluke or by a narrow margin. Working people voted for Medicare for All, for a Senate campaign free of corporate money, an end to forever wars, and for a candidate who would actually fight for them. That mandate doesn’t disappear because one candidate is gone.

“That is why we are rallying behind Troy Jackson. He has spent his life in the fight working people are asking for—not arriving to it because a seat opened up.

“We have days, not weeks, to make sure a real progressive is on this ballot. If we do not organize now, we risk watching the Democratic establishment hand Maine a corporate placeholder while the party that just got outvoted decides it knows better.

“This is bigger than one Senate seat. To take back the Senate, Democrats have to defeat Susan Collins, and they won’t do it by abandoning the coalition that already showed up once. Our Revolution is putting our full organizing machine behind Troy Jackson starting today.”

Our organizing machine is already moving.

With the replacement deadline rapidly approaching, we’re mobilizing our Citizen Action Team, activating volunteers, and organizing across Maine to ensure voters are represented by a candidate who reflects the agenda they overwhelmingly supported.

This fight extends far beyond one state.

Defeating Susan Collins is critical to winning back the Senate. But just as important is protecting the integrity of a movement built by ordinary people—not party insiders or corporate donors. Maine voters already spoke. They chose a people-first platform. Our Revolution is committed to making sure that platform remains on the ballot.

The urgency of this moment has already drawn national attention, with coverage from The New York Times, the Associated Press, The Guardian, Politico, The Hill, and other major outlets. The conversation isn’t simply about replacing one candidate—it’s about whether the Democratic Party will respect the will of primary voters or allow the establishment to override it.

Now is the time to take action. Can you donate $5, $10, or $27 to power our organizing work to nominate and elect Troy Jackson as the next Senator from Maine? Every dollar helps!

Together, we can ensure Maine Democrats have a nominee who will fight for working people, take on corporate power, and help build the progressive Senate majority our country needs.

When we organize, we win.

Kiernan Majerus-Collins for Maine House (HD-95)

Kiernan Majerus-Collins for Maine House (HD-95)

We need leaders who will fight — not fold. That’s why Our Revolution is proud to endorse Kiernan Majerus-Collins for Maine House of Representatives, District 95.

Kiernan isn’t a career politician, he’s a civil rights and immigration attorney who has dedicated his legal work to protecting the constitutional rights of poor and working-class people — ensuring that justice isn’t just for those who can afford it.

He’s also served his community directly, including on the Lewiston School Committee, where he advocated for students and families and helped shape local education policy.

This is the kind of leadership we need: rooted in community, grounded in service, and committed to justice.

A Bold Progressive Agenda for Maine

Kiernan is running on a platform that puts working people first and takes on the core challenges facing Mainers:

  • Lowering the cost of living and making Maine more affordable
  • Building more affordable housing to address the housing crisis
  • Defending immigrant rights and standing up to discrimination
  • Taking on climate change with urgent, forward-looking solutions
  • Strengthening democracy and the rule of law for everyone

This is a clear, values-driven agenda that recognizes a simple truth: government should work for people — not powerful interests.

Kiernan understands the impact of economic injustice and political neglect. His campaign is about ensuring those voices are not only heard — but centered in policymaking. As he puts it, governing means “remembering that everyone counts.”

Kiernan represents a new generation of leaders stepping up to carry forward the fight for economic justice, civil rights, and a more inclusive democracy.

When we organize, we win. ✊

Matt Dunlap for Congress (ME-02)

Matt Dunlap for Congress (ME-02)

Our Revolution is proud to endorse Matt Dunlap for Congress in Maine’s 2nd District — a longtime public servant, democracy defender, and progressive leader ready to stand up for working people.

Matt Dunlap has spent decades serving the people of Maine with integrity and independence. From his time in the Maine House of Representatives to seven terms as Secretary of State, and now as State Auditor, he has built a reputation for accountability, transparency, and putting the public interest first.

But what truly sets Matt apart is his willingness to stand up to power — no matter where it comes from. During the Trump administration, he served on the so-called “election integrity” commission and took it head-on when it became clear it was a partisan effort to undermine voting rights, ultimately helping expose it and force its dissolution.

Matt has deep roots in the progressive movement. He served as a Maine co-chair for Bernie Sanders’ 2016 campaign, helping build the grassroots energy that continues to power our movement today. He understands that real change comes from organized people — not corporate influence.

Now, he’s running for Congress with a commitment to a “People’s Agenda” that centers working-class needs, challenges corporate power, and pushes back against politicians who side with Republicans and fail to deliver for their constituents.

At a time when too many Democrats hedge or compromise with corporate interests, Matt is running to be a clear, unapologetic voice for economic justice, voting rights, and a government that works for the many — not the few.

Maine’s 2nd District deserves a representative who will fight for healthcare, defend our democracy, and stand up to Trump and corporate power without hesitation. Matt Dunlap has the experience, the courage, and the movement behind him to do just that.
