With experience in local government, nonprofit grant management, and at a local credit union, Dalton understands both how government works and the real people behind the numbers. He wants to make the Auditor’s Office more accessible, accountable, and responsive to residents across Mahoning County.

That means bringing services directly into communities, keeping the office fully staffed, improving transparency around property assessments, and making it easier for residents to navigate government programs.

Dalton is also fighting for affordability. He supports expanding Ohio’s Homestead Exemption to provide more relief to homeowners and seniors, while pushing for a fairer tax system that doesn’t leave working families and small farmers carrying more than their share.

And he sees the Auditor as more than a bookkeeper — he wants the office to serve as a watchdog for taxpayers, including stronger oversight of county investments and greater accountability for corporate tax abatements.
