Progressives for New York State Assembly PART 2

The fight for progressive power in New York is heading into the General Election.

Our Revolution is proud to endorse five candidates for New York State Assembly who are ready to fight for working people in Albany: Eli Northrup, Maurice Brown, Kurtis VanWuyckhuyse, Patrick Burke, and Adam Bojak.

From Manhattan and Syracuse to Rochester and Buffalo, these candidates are taking on rising costs, fighting for affordable housing and healthcare, standing with workers, and working to build a government that delivers for everyday New Yorkers.

Eli Northrup — Assembly District 69

Eli Northrup is a public defender, policy advocate, and community leader who has spent his career fighting for justice and standing up for people. As Policy Director for the Criminal Defense Practice at The Bronx Defenders, Eli has helped lead efforts in Albany to protect due process, expand opportunities for people with criminal records, and reform New York’s criminal justice system.

Now the Democratic and Working Families Party nominee for AD-69, Eli is running on a bold affordability agenda that includes universal childcare, universal healthcare, more affordable housing, stronger tenant protections, and making corporations and the wealthiest New Yorkers pay their fair share.

Maurice Brown — Assembly District 129

Maurice “Mo” Brown is a veteran, homeowner, and Onondaga County Legislator running to deliver stronger results for working families in Central New York.

His campaign is focused on lowering costs, expanding affordable housing, reducing utility bills, improving public transportation, investing in prevention-focused public safety, and making corporations and the ultra-wealthy pay their fair share. After a people-powered primary campaign fueled by volunteers, small-dollar donors, and grassroots organizing, Mo is taking that fight to the General Election.

Kurtis VanWuyckhuyse — Assembly District 134

Kurtis VanWuyckhuyse grew up in Hamlin, attended Hilton schools, and now works as General Manager of a family-owned auto business. As a longtime renter in Greece, Kurt says the pressures of rising costs and housing insecurity aren’t abstract political issues — they’re part of his own experience.

Running on a “People Over Profit” platform and rejecting corporate PAC and special-interest money, Kurt supports living wages, stronger unions, housing stability, the New York Health Act, and greater investment in mental health and addiction treatment.

Patrick Burke — Assembly District 142

Patrick Burke is a South Buffalo native running for reelection to represent New York’s 142nd Assembly District.

After serving as an Erie County legislator, Pat was elected to the State Assembly to continue advocating for his constituents and his community in Albany. Pat’s campaign is rooted in his commitment to Western New York, its people, and the environment, and his goal of making the region a better place for his family and everyone who calls it home.

Adam Bojak — Assembly District 149

Adam Bojak is a Family Court and housing-rights attorney who has spent nearly a decade representing everyday Western New Yorkers. Now, he’s running to bring a working-class, democratic socialist vision to Albany.

Adam is running for a “healthy, housed and affordable Western New York” with a platform that includes stronger tenant protections and social housing, the New York Health Act, universal childcare, stronger labor rights, public ownership of utilities, and a moratorium on data center construction. His campaign rejects developer and corporate money and is powered by working people.
