Post-Inauguration Survey Results
We surveyed 2,000 progressives after the inauguration, and only 14% had strong confidence in the Democratic Party to to work to stop the worst the Trump agenda.
43% told us they’re angry. Another 40% said they’re worried, scared, or sad. Many attached damning criticisms of the Democratic Party —
One person wrote: “I’m sick and disgusted. I am ashamed of our country and the fact that there is no real plan to overhaul the Democratic Party.”
Another said: “I am not motivated to give Democrats money because I don’t think they know how to fight effectively and I don’t trust them to do what is necessary to effect real change.”
Our Revolution Director Joseph Geevarghese had this to say: “As Trump and his billionaire benefactors declare all-out war on the working-class, the only effective counterweight to their extreme MAGA agenda will be a Democratic Party that is ready to take on corporate influence and embrace a true populist, working-class vision for the country.”
“Our Revolution’s survey results point to an undeniable crisis of confidence in Democratic Party leadership at a time of unprecedented corporate takeover of the American federal government,” Joseph continued.
“Our Revolution is committed to holding the Trump administration accountable while also pushing for real reforms and calling out hypocrisy within the ranks of the Democratic Party.”
With just 448 DNC insiders set to elect new leadership on Feb. 1st, we will keep pressuring the party to take this seriously and chart a new course.
