This year in Dayton, progressives have a real shot at building power from the bottom up — and Our Revolution is proud to back three courageous candidates who are running to put people first: Shenise Turner-Sloss for Mayor, Darryl Fairchild for re-election (City Commissioner), and Jacob Davis for City Commissioner.
Why These Candidates Matter
- Shenise Turner-Sloss (Mayor)
As a Dayton City Commissioner, Shenise has already shown she’s a fighter for affordable housing, neighborhood investment, and transparency in government. She co-founded Neighborhoods Over Politics, leading efforts to direct over $7.6 million into community uplift and housing improvements. Her platform calls for reimagining public safety, boosting resident engagement, and putting local values ahead of corporate development. - Darryl Fairchild (City Commissioner, running for re-election)
Fairchild has a track record of putting neighborhoods first. He’s championed water infrastructure protections, secured $5.2 million for housing, and pushed for policies that bring equity and transparency to city planning. In interviews, he cites revitalizing neglected areas, promoting inclusive development, and strengthening trust between government and residents as core priorities. - Jacob Davis (City Commissioner candidate)
