Congrats to the new Mayor of Jersey City — James Solomon — on his victory in tonight’s runoff election!

The people of Jersey City made their voices heard, choosing bold, progressive leadership for their city’s future. Our Revolution is proud to celebrate this grassroots-powered win.

Principled, independent, and unafraid to challenge entrenched interests, James Solomon has built a reputation as a champion for working families. As Ward E Councilperson, he consistently stood on the side of the people.

During his time on the council, James led the fight for:

  • Affordable housing and strong renter protections
  • Expanded public transit and a more sustainable, walkable city
  • Transparency and ethics reform in local government
  • Policies that prioritize residents over wealthy developers

Dayton Deserves Bold Progressive Leadership

This year in Dayton, progressives have a real shot at building power from the bottom up — and Our Revolution is proud to back three courageous candidates who are running to put people first: Shenise Turner-Sloss for Mayor, Darryl Fairchild for re-election (City Commissioner), and Jacob Davis for City Commissioner.

Why These Candidates Matter

  • Shenise Turner-Sloss (Mayor)
    As a Dayton City Commissioner, Shenise has already shown she’s a fighter for affordable housing, neighborhood investment, and transparency in government. She co-founded Neighborhoods Over Politics, leading efforts to direct over $7.6 million into community uplift and housing improvements. Her platform calls for reimagining public safety, boosting resident engagement, and putting local values ahead of corporate development.
  • Darryl Fairchild (City Commissioner, running for re-election)
    Fairchild has a track record of putting neighborhoods first. He’s championed water infrastructure protections, secured $5.2 million for housing, and pushed for policies that bring equity and transparency to city planning. In interviews, he cites revitalizing neglected areas, promoting inclusive development, and strengthening trust between government and residents as core priorities.
  • Jacob Davis (City Commissioner candidate)
    Jacob brings fresh energy and a community advocacy background to this race. A lawyer by training, Davis emphasizes economic justice, support for small businesses, and revitalizing struggling neighborhoods. He is campaigning under the slogan “Neighborhoods First. Progress for All.”

Victory: Aisha Braveboy

Prince George’s County made history — and Our Revolution members helped make it happen. Aisha Braveboy has been elected County Executive, and that’s a massive win for working people, not corporate power.

Aisha is the real deal. As State’s Attorney, she took on a broken criminal justice system, expanded diversion programs, and fought for fairness and transparency. She stood with our communities against corruption and refused to let the powerful play by their own rules.

Now, she’s bringing that same fearless leadership to the County Executive’s office — ready to:

  • Fight housing injustice and expand affordable homes.
  • Create union jobs and grow local businesses.
  • Fully fund public schools instead of padding developer profits.
  • Defend democracy and civil rights at every turn.

Donavan McKinney

for Congress in Michigan’s 13th District!

Born and raised in Detroit, Donavan knows firsthand the challenges working-class families face. He’s lived them—and he’s spent his life fighting back. In the State House, he’s been a leading voice on the frontlines of environmental justice, voting rights, and economic equity. Now he’s ready to take that fight to Washington.

Donavan joined Our Revolution’s national organizing call and told us his story:

“I grew up poor, moving over 13 times in Detroit’s 13th district. I didn’t know where my next meal was coming from,” he said. “In 10th grade, my mom was crying because another young black kid was murdered in our neighborhood. She looked me in the eyes and said, ‘You have to survive.’ That moment made me realize we need to fight for a better community.”

As a state representative, Donovan has stood up to oligarchic influence:

“I’ve taken on the utilities companies and told them I won’t vote for something to give them more money while we sit in the dark. I’ve taken on contractors that were gouging our state… we passed one of the strongest ethics packages in the state’s history.”

This is what real progressive leadership looks like: someone who doesn’t just talk about justice, but delivers it. Someone rooted in the community, who will bring the voices of everyday people to the halls of Congress.
