Torres-Walker and Wilson for Antioch City Council
Two longtime community advocates are seeking another term on the Antioch City Council this November: Tamisha Torres-Walker in District 1 and Monica Wilson in District 4.
Both have powerful progressive records on the issues — affordable housing, tenant protections, police accountability, community-based public safety, mental-health services and support for working families.
Tamisha Torres-Walker — District 1
Tamisha Torres-Walker is a mother, grandmother, community organizer and advocate who has represented District 1 since 2020.
She helped secure $3.9 million for community-based gun-violence prevention and intervention, supporting a mobile mental-health crisis response team and Antioch’s first civilian police oversight body.
On housing, she has fought for rent stabilization and stronger tenant protections. She has also backed efforts to stop oil and gas drilling and shut down a gas pipeline running through the community.
In another term, Tamisha would continue expanding youth and violence-prevention programs, protecting renters, creating pathways to affordable homeownership, addressing homelessness, strengthening police accountability and bringing good jobs to Antioch.
Monica Wilson — District 4
Monica Wilson made history as the first African American woman elected to the Antioch City Council. Now in her fourth term, she brings more than two decades of experience as a community organizer, nonprofit leader and public servant.
Monica has worked on police reform and accountability, expanding mental-health crisis response, homelessness and neighborhood safety. She has been a longtime advocate against human trafficking, working with Love Never Fails on services for survivors and alongside the Contra Costa County District Attorney’s Office on efforts to establish the county’s Human Trafficking Task Force.
Her campaign is focused on strengthening neighborhoods, supporting families and building a more resilient local economy — with an emphasis on transparent, accountable local government that delivers for Antioch residents.
