DAVID SELIGMAN FOR ATTORNEY GENERAL

By CO, Endorsement

Our Revolution is proud to endorse David Seligman — a fearless progressive fighter for working people and justice for all.

As Executive Director of Towards Justice, David took on corporate giants and won: recovering stolen wages, breaking abusive non-compete agreements, protecting whistleblowers, and challenging workplace exploitation. He’s a proven champion for economic justice, civil rights, and democracy.

David will use the Attorney General’s office to:

  • Defend voting rights and reproductive freedom.
  • Hold big polluters accountable.
  • Investigate police misconduct.
  • Stop corporate profiteers like Palantir from violating our rights.

While Trump, Musk, and their billionaire allies try to weaponize government for the 1%, David will fight for the 99% — and win.

We’re all in for David Seligman. Let’s elect a people’s lawyer who will stand up to the powerful and deliver justice for all Coloradans.

When we organize, we win.

Our Revolution Backs DNC Resolution to Take on Dark Money in 2028 Democratic Presidential Primary

By Press Release

WASHINGTON, D.C. — On Monday, DNC Chair Ken Martin introduced a significant resolution aimed at curbing the corrosive influence of unlimited corporate and dark money in the Democratic presidential primary process—a reform effort that, if adopted and implemented, could drastically reshape the future of Democratic politics.

The resolution, scheduled for a key vote at the Aug. 27th DNC summer meeting in Minneapolis, directs the DNC Committee on Reforms to promptly identify “real, enforceable steps the DNC can take to eliminate unlimited corporate and dark money in its 2028 presidential primary process.” It also calls on the committee to develop a detailed set of legislative proposals for the DNC to present to Democratic Congressional leadership to push for lasting change at the federal level.

“For the last 15 years, the disgraceful Citizens United ruling has unleashed a flood of spending from dark money groups and corporate Super PACs that has drowned out working people’s voices and sidelined the progressive candidates our party needs to challenge the corrupt billionaire class,” said Joseph Geevarghese, executive director of Our Revolution. “This resolution is a crucial step to ensure the Democratic presidential nominee is chosen by everyday people—not deep-pocketed donors and the special interests they serve. We urge every DNC member to rise to the moment, back this fight, and put power back where it belongs—in the hands of voters, not the billionaires.”

Our Revolution—the nation’s largest independent political organizing group—has been at the forefront of efforts to curb the power of big money in politics since its founding by Senator Bernie Sanders following his historic 2016 presidential primary campaign.

Our Revolution Executive Director Joseph Geevarghese is available for interviews to discuss the significance of the resolution and the broader grassroots movement to reform America’s broken campaign finance system. For interview requests, please contact: media@ourrevolution.com.

From Capitol Hill to the Streets: Our Revolution Escalates the Fight Against Trump’s Agenda

By Uncategorized

Taking the Fight to Capitol Hill

Donald Trump continues to slash healthcare and critical programs, defund public media, and pad his pockets — and those of his billionaire benefactors — with massive tax breaks and brazen crypto schemes.

Inspired by Bernie Sanders, WE ARE FIGHTING BACK — in Congress and in the streets.

Our Revolution’s Citizen Action Team delivered 70,000 petitions directly to Senate offices, demanding they reject Trump’s brutal budget cuts. We organized dozens of lobby visits — including with GOP Senators Lisa Murkowski and Susan Collins — making sure they hear directly from the grassroots about what’s at stake.

Making Noise in the Streets

We’ve held rallies across the country — and even marched outside Trump’s luxury golf resort, where he was wining and dining with crypto billionaires. Our message is clear: we will not stand by while billionaires bankroll an agenda of greed and hate.

🚨 Shutting Down Trump’s Deportation Flights 🚨

The billionaires funding Trump’s MAGA agenda are using our tax dollars to disappear people.

Today in SoHo, Our Revolution joined labor and community allies to call out Trump crony Antonio Gracias — Elon Musk’s long‑time ally and chief architect of the DOGE immigration task force — for weaponizing Social Security data to target immigrant families.

Gracias’s firm, Valor Equity Partners, is cashing in on AI surveillance and tech used to deport civilians. This is the face of the billionaire class: getting rich off cruelty, exploiting public resources, and treating immigrant communities as disposable.

We’re here to defund oligarchs like Gracias — and fight for a government that serves the people, not the ultra-rich.

No Gracias to Trump’s Deportation Machine

Gracias helped design raids on Social Security numbers, bankroll deportation flights, and push policies that tear families apart — all while raising billions to fuel Musk’s empire.

Our Revolution, SEIU, and allies showed up in force today to disrupt this profiteering and dismantle the machinery of hate.

Next Up: Taking on Avelo Airlines

We’re organizing to fight Avelo Airlines in Maryland, Maine, and beyond — to stop Trump’s deportation machine in its tracks. Thanks to public pressure from our members and partners in Burbank, Avelo is no longer flying ICE deportation routes from California or anywhere on the West Coast. Now we’re taking that fight nationwide.

When we organize, we win. And right now, the stakes couldn’t be higher.

Fight Fire with Fire: Texas Dems Risk It All to Stop Gerrymandering Power Grab

By Uncategorized

Texas Republicans are trying to ram through an outrageous redistricting scheme designed to erase progressive voices and lock us out of power for decades.

They’re targeting champions like Greg Casar and Jasmine Crockett — redrawing the map to eliminate their districts entirely. It’s a brazen, anti-democratic scheme to silence voters and steal the game.

But a group of Texas Democrats are taking a stand. To stop Governor Greg Abbott’s power grab, they left the state — denying the GOP the quorum it needs to ram this through. They’re risking their jobs, their savings, and even arrest.

This isn’t just a Texas fight. This is about the future of our democracy — and whether we let authoritarians redraw the rules to cling to power. We ALL need to stand with them.

TELL ALL DEMOCRATIC GOVERNORS TO FIGHT TRUMP’S REDISTRICTING SCHEME

Donald Trump is counting on aggressive Republican redistricting in Texas, Ohio, and Missouri to cement GOP control. In Texas alone, Republicans’ scheme would give them five more U.S. House seats next year — seats they can’t win fairly.

Our Revolution–endorsed Rep. James Talarico is leading the charge, proving that the only way to beat authoritarians is to refuse to play by their rigged rules. This is exactly why Our Revolution exists: to elect leaders willing to take bold risks to defend our democracy — and to demand all Democrats do the same.

If they can silence progressive voices in Texas, they’ll do it everywhere. We need a flood of solidarity — right now. Every signature sends a message: we have their backs, and we expect action.

Stop Avelo Airlines from Fueling ICE Deportation Flights

By Homepage2, Take Action

Earlier this year, Avelo Airlines quietly signed on to fly deportation flights for ICE — turning our airports into launchpads for tearing families apart.

But thanks to public outcry and grassroots action, the pressure is already working. In Burbank, California, Our Revolution members joined local activists to push Avelo to shut down its base. That victory sent a clear message: communities won’t tolerate corporations profiting from cruelty.

Now we’re taking the fight to Maryland and Maine.

Why We’re Targeting BWI and Portland Jetport

  • BWI Airport in Maryland is owned by the state — meaning the governor and transportation officials have the power to decide which airlines use public resources.
  • Portland International Jetport in Maine falls under city jurisdiction — and local leaders can reject contracts with airlines complicit in ICE’s deportation machine.

Both states have a choice:
Stand with immigrant families and refuse to do business with an airline ripping families apart — or turn a blind eye while our tax dollars bankroll Trump’s deportation machine.

How We Win

In Burbank, grassroots protests, billboards, and boycotts made it impossible for Avelo to ignore public opposition. Now we’re ready to do it again — and again — until no airline wants its brand tied to ICE’s cruelty.

We know this works. We’ve seen it. But we need a wave of public pressure to force decision‑makers in Maryland and Maine to act.

Add your name to demand state and local officials cut ties with Avelo — and any airline — that runs deportation flights for ICE. Together, we can shut down the deportation pipeline.

BREAKING: Our Revolution Pushes DNC to End Dark Money in Primaries

By Homepage

VICTORY! We just won a major milestone in the fight to get Big Money out of politics. The DNC voted Wednesday to finally crack down on dark money in presidential primaries.

“Blocking corporate money in the nominating process and blocking dark money — those are two great steps,” Our Rev Chair Larry Cohen told Common Dreams.

“New progressive candidates have been blocked by the onslaught of money from crypto, fossil fuel and an endless parade of corporate spending, as well as AIPAC and other right-wing groups and Republican billionaires,” Our Revolution Chair Larry Cohen wrote in an op-ed in The Nation.

“This resolution is about putting power back where it belongs — in the hands of voters, not corporate elites,” said Our Revolution leader Joseph Geevarghese. “This victory belongs to the grassroots.”

This comes after 10 years organizing, electing progressives into the party structure, and keeping up grassroots pressure — we delivered 13,000+ petitions just this week to the DNC.

Now the hard work begins: making sure these reforms are enforced for 2028 and beyond. For too long, Super PACs and billionaires have drowned out grassroots voices.

Our Revolution will keep leading the charge to get AIPAC, crypto, and other dark money out of the party — and we won’t stop until primaries belong to the people. Donate $5, $10, or $27 to fuel the next phase of this fight.

Trump’s DC Takeover Is a Trial Run for Authoritarian Rule

By Homepage, Take Action

Trump’s DC Takeover Is a Trial Run for Authoritarian Rule

Donald Trump has seized control of the D.C. Metropolitan Police Department and deployed 800 National Guard troops into the nation’s capital. This is not law enforcement. This is occupation.

And Trump isn’t stopping there. He’s already moved troops into Memphis — and he’s threatening Chicago next — laying the groundwork for a coast-to-coast crackdown, using militarized force in cities across America.

A Chilling Power Grab in Broad Daylight

President Trump signed a presidential memorandum deploying the National Guard to Memphis, Tennessee, to join a task force with federal agencies like the FBI, ICE, Department of Homeland Security, and U.S. Marshals — all under the guise of fighting crime.

He’s made it clear he’s following the same model used in D.C. In the same announcement, Trump singled out Chicago as “probably next.”

Violent crime is stabilizing or declining in many of the cities he’s targeting; fear-driven rhetoric is being used to justify these expansions of power. Local leaders in Memphis and Illinois have already sounded alarms about threats to civil liberties and the lack of local consent.

Why We Can’t Wait to Act

If Trump can seize control of law enforcement in D.C., deploy troops in Memphis, and threaten Chicago—even without local consent—this sets a dangerous precedent nationally.

We’re already seeing what the playbook looks like: fear-driven messaging, paired with federal force. That tends to crush dissent, intimidate communities, and erode democratic norms.

Our Revolution Is on the Ground

Our Revolution’s DC Citizen Action Team is in the streets right now — fighting back against this authoritarian occupation.

This week, we’ll be on Capitol Hill delivering our message:

  • Congress must act immediately to restore local control of DC’s police department.
  • All National Guard and federal troops must be withdrawn.
  • We demand oversight and accountability for every deployment and order.

We’re scaling up organizing in cities across the country to meet this moment — but we need every voice possible pushing Congress and local officials to defend democracy.

This Is Bigger Than DC

If this power grab goes unchecked here, it can spread anywhere. The precedent is being set, and the stakes are nothing less than the survival of our democratic system.

✍️ Add your name: Tell Congress to Stop Trump’s DC Occupation and defend local autonomy.

When we organize, we win. Let’s make sure this is the moment we stopped Trump’s march toward authoritarian rule.

Our Revolution Condemns Trump’s Federal Takeover of D.C. Police and Threat to Deploy National Guard Troops

By Press Release

As Trump Escalates Series of Authoritarian Crackdowns Targeting Independent Centers of Power, Our Revolution Launches Petition Urging Congress to Block His Latest Power Grab — Calling Out the Manufactured Crisis as a Diversion from the Epstein Scandal and a Stark Example of Authoritarianism Merging with Oligarchy to Shield the Powerful and Well-Connected

Washington, DC — Our Revolution unequivocally condemns President Donald Trump’s dangerous and authoritarian federal takeover of Washington, D.C.’s Metropolitan Police Department and his threat to deploy National Guard troops in the streets of our nation’s capital. This alarming move is the latest in a series of escalating crackdowns, from academia and the media to law firms, government offices, and cities led by political opposition — targeting independent civic centers of power as well as public officials who have challenged him.

“This is not law and order — it’s tyranny,” said Our Revolution Executive Director Joseph Geevarghese. “Trump is starting to target American cities led by Democrats, first deploying troops in LA, now federalizing local police in DC. This is a clear escalation with the threat of military force in Trump’s authoritarian push to silence dissent, intimidate communities, and tighten his grip on power. In the meantime, he’s using this power grab as a diversion from the Epstein scandal. Members of Congress need to connect the dots and step up to intervene before it’s too late. Next up could be Chicago or New York.

Time and again, strongmen have manufactured crises to tighten their grip on local police — the first step toward a nationwide power grab.”

Our Revolution stands with the people of Washington, D.C., and with communities nationwide rising up for justice and democracy. What we saw in Los Angeles is now playing out in the nation’s capital — an authoritarian tactic designed to silence protest and dissent. This is no one-off; it’s becoming a standard playbook Trump can deploy in any city to crush opposition and consolidate power. We urge every elected official, candidate, and organization that claims to defend democracy to speak out and act decisively against this dangerous escalation.

In response to the Administration’s dangerous abuse of emergency powers, Our Revolution is urging its 8 million+ members to demand Congress act now to stop this latest escalation,  circulating a petition calling on lawmakers to block the takeover and troop deployment. Petitions will be delivered to members of Congress this week.

The line between civilian and military authority is one of the most critical protections in a functioning democracy. Trump’s use of a federalized police department alongside the threat of armed troops in our streets is a blatant abuse of power. Congress must act.

MEDIA AVAILABILITY: Joseph Geevarghese, Executive Director of Our Revolution, is available for interviews to discuss Trump’s authoritarian takeover of D.C.’s police, his threat to deploy troops, the growing pattern of crackdowns, and what Democrats must do in this moment to show up for movements, protect vulnerable communities, and fight back against the erosion of democratic norms.

RSVP: Grassroots Rally and Press Conference at Private Equity HQ in NYC to Expose Billionaire Antonio Gracias and Valor Equity Partners Profiting From Public Coffers to Fund Authoritarianism

By Press Release

Our Revolution members will join a broad coalition of labor, immigrant rights, and community organizations in a national day of action following the money trail from taxpayer dollars to billionaire pockets and the dismantling of democracy — spotlighting Valor Equity Partners and Antonio Gracias in the “No Gracias” campaign as emblematic of corruption, profiteering, and authoritarian power.

Press is kindly asked to RSVP HERE to attend or request interview

New York, NY  — On Tuesday, August 5,  Our Revolution, the nation’s largest grassroots progressive organization, will activate members to join a broad coalition of grassroots organizations for a high‑visibility protest and press conference outside the SoHo offices of Valor Equity Partners. The action will spotlight billionaire Antonio Gracias, a central figure in the Trump administration’s Department of Government Efficiency, for his role in slashing public programs, driving mass deportation efforts, and spreading dangerous disinformation about immigrants.

As documented in Politico and the Revolving Door Project, Gracias used his leadership position at the Department of Government Efficiency to cut thousands of jobs at the Social Security Administration, embed operatives throughout immigration agencies, and weaponize federal data systems to target immigrants. At the same time, he continued to run Valor Equity Partners, a private equity firm invested in Musk linked ventures, border surveillance technology, and other industries positioned to profit from the very policies he advanced in government.

This protest is part of a national day of action in cities where Valor operates including Palo Alto, Seattle, Chicago, and Miami. It will kick off a sustained campaign to expose billionaires and corporate elites who leverage public positions to funnel taxpayer resources into private profits while advancing an authoritarian political agenda.

“Antonio Gracias represents the dangerous fusion of oligarchic wealth and authoritarian politics,” said Joseph Geevarghese, Executive Director of Our Revolution. “This is about more than one man — it is about billionaires and big money interests using their access to power to dismantle our democratic institutions, privatize public goods, and profit from fear and division. Our members are mobilizing because we refuse to let the billionaire class loot the public sector, gut essential services, and turn our democracy into a playground for the ultra rich.”

During the action and press conference, advocates will be calling for:

  • Full staffing at the Social Security Administration
  • An end to immigrant scapegoating and misuse of federal data
  • Public accountability for those who abuse government roles to enrich themselves and dismantle public institutions
  • A government that serves the people, not billionaires

A Turning Point on Gaza — and a Crisis of Credibility for Senate Democrats

By Uncategorized

Yesterday, July 30, for the first time, a majority of Senate Democrats supported a resolution by Senator Bernie Sanders to block an $18 billion weapons sale to Israel—amid the Israeli government’s ongoing assault on Gaza and escalating starvation.

Though the resolution failed by a vote of 27-72—blocked by every Republican and 17 Democrats—this was a watershed moment in U.S. foreign policy and a powerful sign that the Democratic base is reshaping the party’s stance on Israel, militarism, and human rights.

“These votes don’t erase the fact that AIPAC and its billionaire donors have had a stranglehold on Democratic foreign policy for years,” said Our Revolution Executive Director Joseph Geevarghese. “That grip is finally starting to break—but the damage to trust in the Democratic Party and our democracy is real. Base voters see the influence of money, and they’re sick of it.”

While 26 Democrats stood on the right side of history, others revealed troubling contradictions.

Senators Jon Ossoff, Jack Reed, and Sheldon Whitehouse flipped their votes—supporting a similar resolution earlier this year, only to abandon it now, even as the humanitarian crisis deepens. Meanwhile, Senators Chuck Schumer and Cory Booker, both with long histories of defending U.S. military aid to Israel and deep ties to pro-Israel lobby groups like AIPAC, voted to block weapons sales under pressure from a mobilized public.

“They are not leading—they are catching up,” Geevarghese said. “This shift didn’t come from moral clarity in Washington. It came from the moral clarity of the grassroots.”

Despite the backtracking and political hedging by some electeds, the direction of change is clear—and it’s being driven from the ground up.

Polling underscores just how out of step many Democrats in office have been:

  • 78% of NYC Democratic primary voters say Israel is committing genocide
  • 46% believe Israel is using starvation as a weapon of war
  • A majority support restrictions on U.S. arms to Israel
  • Only 8% of Democrats nationally support Israel’s military campaign in Gaza

As the humanitarian crisis in Gaza worsens, voters are demanding action, not empty rhetoric. You can’t condemn famine while funding the bombs that cause it. The era of blank-check support for Netanyahu’s far-right regime is ending—and the political realignment is being led by ordinary people, not Washington insiders.

At Our Revolution, we’re organizing to make sure this shift is real, lasting, and accountable. The next phase of this fight is here—and we know who’s been standing with the people all along.
