Congrats to the new Mayor of Jersey City — James Solomon — on his victory in tonight’s runoff election!

The people of Jersey City made their voices heard, choosing bold, progressive leadership for their city’s future. Our Revolution is proud to celebrate this grassroots-powered win.

Principled, independent, and unafraid to challenge entrenched interests, James Solomon has built a reputation as a champion for working families. As Ward E Councilperson, he consistently stood on the side of the people.

During his time on the council, James led the fight for:

  • Affordable housing and strong renter protections
  • Expanded public transit and a more sustainable, walkable city
  • Transparency and ethics reform in local government
  • Policies that prioritize residents over wealthy developers

Tonight’s victory is a testament not only to James’s tireless work, but to the power of grassroots organizing. This is a win for the people — and a win for a more just, more accountable Jersey City.

Dayton Deserves Bold Progressive Leadership

This year in Dayton, progressives have a real shot at building power from the bottom up — and Our Revolution is proud to back three courageous candidates who are running to put people first: Shenise Turner-Sloss for Mayor, Darryl Fairchild for re-election (City Commissioner), and Jacob Davis for City Commissioner.

Why These Candidates Matter

  • Shenise Turner-Sloss (Mayor)
    As a Dayton City Commissioner, Shenise has already shown she’s a fighter for affordable housing, neighborhood investment, and transparency in government. She co-founded Neighborhoods Over Politics, leading efforts to direct over $7.6 million into community uplift and housing improvements. Her platform calls for reimagining public safety, boosting resident engagement, and putting local values ahead of corporate development.
  • Darryl Fairchild (City Commissioner, running for re-election)
    Fairchild has a track record of putting neighborhoods first. He’s championed water infrastructure protections, secured $5.2 million for housing, and pushed for policies that bring equity and transparency to city planning. In interviews, he cites revitalizing neglected areas, promoting inclusive development, and strengthening trust between government and residents as core priorities.
  • Jacob Davis (City Commissioner candidate)
    Jacob brings fresh energy and a community advocacy background to this race. A lawyer by training, Davis emphasizes economic justice, support for small businesses, and revitalizing struggling neighborhoods. He is campaigning under the slogan “Neighborhoods First. Progress for All.”

Why This Victory Matters

A Legacy Rooted in Service
Adelita is not new to public service — she’s a lifelong Tucson community leader. From two decades serving on the Tucson Unified School District Board to her term on the Pima County Board of Supervisors — including a term as the first Latina Board Chair — Adelita has consistently delivered on affordable housing, climate resilience, relentless education investment, and public safety.

Upholding a Family’s Progressive Legacy
She is succeeding her father, Rep. Raúl Grijalva, a legendary progressive force in Southern Arizona. Adelita’s win ensures the continuation of a values-driven, people-centered approach to representation. As she celebrated in her victory speech, “This is a victory not for me, but for our community and the progressive movement my dad started in Southern Arizona more than 50 years ago.”

A Movement Unites Behind Her
Adelita’s campaign drew broad support across the progressive spectrum — including endorsements from Senator Bernie Sanders, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Emily’s List, and the Working Families Party. Through grassroots grassroots efforts — 39,000 door knocks, 1,400 volunteers, and a vibrant “movimiento” — Adelita’s campaign embodied people-powered politics.

Progressive Justice Wins in Virginia: Our Revolution Celebrates Joshua Cole

Our Revolution is thrilled to congratulate Delegate Joshua Cole on his re-election to Virginia’s House of Delegates, representing District 65! Cole’s victory marks another triumph for grassroots-led progressives in the Commonwealth.

Why This Win Matters

Josh Cole is not just a name on the ballot — he’s a proven progressive champion. Raised in Fredericksburg and serving as a pastor, he’s deeply rooted in the communities he represents and has delivered real results on the issues that matter most.

  • Defending Reproductive Rights: Cole chaired the subcommittee on constitutional amendments, passing H.J. 1, which enshrines the right to personal reproductive decisions — including abortion, contraception, and prenatal care — as a constitutional amendment. This victory lays the groundwork for a critical ballot initiative next year.
  • Tackling Money in Politics: His HB 2165, which bans the use of campaign funds for personal expenses, passed both chambers—an important step toward reducing corruption in Virginia politics.
  • First-Gen, Grassroots Power: In 2023, Josh became one of the youngest and first Black delegates elected from the Fredericksburg region — and he earned that seat back in 2025 with a renewed mandate

Victory: Aisha Braveboy

Prince George’s County made history — and Our Revolution members helped make it happen. Aisha Braveboy has been elected County Executive, and that’s a massive win for working people, not corporate power.

Aisha is the real deal. As State’s Attorney, she took on a broken criminal justice system, expanded diversion programs, and fought for fairness and transparency. She stood with our communities against corruption and refused to let the powerful play by their own rules.

Now, she’s bringing that same fearless leadership to the County Executive’s office — ready to:

  • Fight housing injustice and expand affordable homes.
  • Create union jobs and grow local businesses.
  • Fully fund public schools instead of padding developer profits.
  • Defend democracy and civil rights at every turn.

She didn’t get here by cozying up to oligarchs or taking billionaire checks. She got here because we had her back — knocking doors, making calls, and turning out the vote.

As Executive Director of Towards Justice, David took on corporate giants and won: recovering stolen wages, breaking abusive non-compete agreements, protecting whistleblowers, and challenging workplace exploitation. He’s a proven champion for economic justice, civil rights, and democracy.

David will use the Attorney General’s office to:

  • Defend voting rights and reproductive freedom.
  • Hold big polluters accountable.
  • Investigate police misconduct.
  • Stop corporate profiteers like Palantir from violating our rights.

While Trump, Musk, and their billionaire allies try to weaponize government for the 1%, David will fight for the 99% — and win.
